OTTO

OTTO is OCC’s automated out-calling system, created to deliver emergency notifications to facility operators that rely on a phone call to receive these notices.

Here’s how he works:

  1. After the ticket information is sent, OTTO calls the appropriate phone number from the notification center’s facility operator database.
  2. OTTO communicates the ticket information to the affected utility operator.
  3. The user can then choose to listen to some, part or all of the locate request.
  4. Unlike humans, OTTO can handle several outgoing calls at once. His only limitation is the number of computer ports and phone lines allocated.
